"I played in bands for 15 years. In 2019 I was touring a lot, taking a lot of flights, playing with Hobos, a metal band from Venice. We were travelling on the weekend, playing on Friday night, Saturday night, and going back to work on the Monday. By the end of the year I was quite tired, and I said to myself 2020 would be the year I'd start my solo project. I bought a lot of equipment and set up my home studio, and then Covid happened, and I was just ready for it. The first day I was home from work, I started recording. I guess I was looking for complete creative freedom. Now, if I want to do something totally different, I can just do it"



“I really needed to do this. I was very inspired by one man bands, like Ty Segall, Tame Impala, Mac Demarco, artists that produce their own records at home. And that's what I did with the first album of Dead and Well, I sat down from 9am to 5pm for three months straight during the first lockdown and didn’t stop recording."

Dead and Well is the solo project of Luca Rizzardi.
